Alcohol and salad![]()
Hopefully Jerry can get back on the road soon!
I'd like to think Dandelion wine is good. But I tried some once and it was.....not...that great. Elderly couple from Iowa made it. I loved them...just not their vino.Holms, dear boy, that's only ONE good use.
And the salad isn't it.
What did prices go for chicken wise?
The only thing I did not watch, was the baby chicks/ducks/etc...can you tell me how those went?? I am powerless against those so I removed myself from the area haha.I thought it went extremely slow. We stayed until they finished the baby chicks, went to Bismarck and had lunch, came back for a minute around 2:30 I think and they were still on the hoofstock.
How long did the whole thing last?
As far as prices go, while I didn't see any of the adult poultry, I thought everything else was going for quite a bit less than what I've normally seen at the spring sale. I wonder if there being the same type sale in both Rugby and New Salem on the same day had an effect on that. Because normally there's people that come from miles to this, I think the normal crowd go split up.
There was also considerably less poultry there, normally they have both sides of that barn full.
If I would have been more prepared (actually had a trailer with and was looking to buy something) I would have picked up two of those highlander heifers that went for $500ish. Grass or not, I could have found a place for them for awhile.
