I may or may not have grabbed a hold of poison ivy with both hands when I was mowing... I'll leave that right there.

JEWEL WEED if you can find it anywhere. If it is the actual weed break open the stem and apply it to the poison ivy. Works like a charm. Maybe it would be available in essential oil form? Good stuff.

When cooler days return I think you'll see the early coffee drinkers back on. Outdoor chores and tending seem to be time stealers.

The welsummer started laying again. So I've got two layers again. It actually will keep us in eggs. We eat them mostly on the weekends.

Made two rounds of soap last night. Will make another two tonight.

Jewel weed is usually accessible by any swamp or lake. Also known as impatiens capensis, or touch me nots.( did an ecology paper in it in college) .

I used to try and find the ripest seed things as a kid.... Was fun to make them explode.

As for the poison ivy... Blending the touch me nots up with plantain works really well. Haven't used it in a while so I forget the exact recipe, but I do remember it worked.

For poison Ivy....which my ankles visited just last week....

Smoother it with gasoline. I apply gas to a paper towel and leave it penetrate or soak in for 5 minutes. Then shower like normal. Done gone dried up in 2 days and not itchy.

Please note: No where in this post did I say anything about fire or open flame!

Well I am sure if you do it around an open flame it will dry up a lot quicker! And it will take your mind off the itching in just a few seconds
