Ralphie, I believe you are using some type of modern math in your chicken counting ?
Tfred, there was a man named David Bird I believe that lived near Deer River that had extremely good Buff Chanteclers. He seems to have dropped from sight, but maybe Mike Gilbert has some idea of what is up with him ?
Ralphie, the Dominiques sound very tempting. The originals came from Duane Urch didn't they ?
Yes, my originals were from Urch. I drove down there and picked up the eggs and hatched them myself. Included in the ones I want to get rid of besides some nice birds are some with minor defects. A few hollow combs, short combs and so forth. I really cut them tight this last "culling" I kept my bet 6 from this generation and will cull 3-4 of them in a few weeks.
As Holm eluded too, they change so fast at this age. The are blooming in front of my eyes. I think the two cockerels I picked to show may be moving to the cut pen soon. A couple of youngsters are really showing them up. It will depend on their size the last week of Oct. Age is such an advantage to the guys.
