Surviving Minnesota!

I think that is the SOP, that does not mean you will find one that is pure yellow. I just noticed it and commented. It was one of the defects I was cutting for on Friday, BUT I do not see anything in the SOP about the points assessed for color. Only shape.

So you should be ok, remember the perfect bird does not exist, you just want to get as close to it as you can and closer than anyone else.
Interesting, I noticed my Dom had black in his beak and I was wondering about the point cut for that.

And Santa might deliver you a new 2018 F350 crew cab 4x4 truck!!
He won't because it's going to me.

Holm took a few of my birds home the other day and he found lice or mites on one,,ewwwwwwww.. I really appreciate his telling me. Now I can spend the day touching every bird I own...Lucky me..
I hear ya, I've been playing whackamole with them for the past year.... Hopefully I can clean them out for good/for a while soon....

I have been debating telling any of you this. I told Ivie yesterday at the "meeting".

I have been tossing around the idea of running for the Minnesota House of Representatives. I am 90% sure I will be running. I did "semi-announce" the other night at the NRA dinner.

I am not saying this for any political reason, I just do not want you guys to be taken by surprise, as I consider you my friends.
There are a few reasons I would not run, mainly what my Doctor says. After the mishap this summer with surgery, which I did discuss at the meeting yesterday, I want to make sure I will be here in 5 years. At this point I cannot be sure.

I would only run for two terms. As I would be 70 at the end of the second term. There is one other person running a party insider, so it is a steep hill. I have not officially filed and with the Election Commission and will not for 8-10 weeks most likely, but I am doing the pre-steps needed...

Anyways.. now you know, when i decide if I am for sure or not, I will let you know..

Thanks
:clap

@duluthralphie do you have the SOP book?
Duh, silly..... Of course he does.
lol, i want to enter some of my birds in the fair but for one of the classes it is based on the SOPs, which i know absolutely NOTHING about

I am away back to work but I wish I was still chatting in that restaurant with these good people. I told Jerry we were lucky these folks wanted to break away from the banana belt and north of Brainerd to come to our little town. We all wanted to talk chicken... imagine that!

Can you guess who is who?
Hmm, I think that the pretty blonde lady on the bottom left is Ralphie.... :lau

Okay so at the Left is BC, Then clockwise, jerryse, Jerry's DW (Janet), Saint Judy, Erlibird, Ivie, and Ralphie. Mushroom pickers at one corner. Beautiful Ladies at the other end of the table. LOL.

Ralphie you would be a breath of fresh air there in the Minnesota Swamp. Don't let them eat you up though.... Just remember that Mark Twain quote about fighting with Stupid People. LOL.

Busy day today...rounding it out with 4 quarts of stewed tomatoes tonight. Up at Mom and Dad's again. Time to Run home and lock up my flock. This time of year is busy too isn't it? I always think spring is nutso. But the garden harvests and tending to those goods and getting things ready for winter brings about busy busy times as well. Just when you get done with your 9-5 you realize you still have some time to put in before you can relax for the evening. Crazy.

It was such a nice gathering and getting to meet the ladies of our good thread. We'll have to gather closer to the banana belt next time. Get some more BYCers together.

I can't wait for your barn wedding photos MNChickMom. Do you have a little business now with that barn...sort of a shoulder season for you when the barn's not in use...so on so forth?

BC I am still picking tomatoes and putting them in the freezer to make sauce when the garden is done. I'm not getting a ton of them, it's just slow ripening this year.

I have been craving mashed taters and gravy for a couple weeks now and finally made it tonight :drool beef roast with onions carrots a clove of garlic -not to over do the garlic cause DH isn't a huge fan of it, the gravy turned out perfect and I totally stuffed myself.

Are they taters from the garden?
Dad planted 7 rows of his kanebecs. They were huge and the mounds very productive. He's sure got a mountain in his garage on a pallet. Crazy! I can't remember if I shared this already but this spring he gave some of the chicken poop I give him to his good neighbors and had an incomplete coverage in his own garden. The line was distinct by the looks of plants with poo and those without. Those chickens make some excellent fertilizer

Your dads garden must be large! I didn't grow any taters this year because I put too many flowers in the garden.
