BC...I have the same criteria for my birds. Currently I have the Australorps, Double Laced Barnvelders, and the SS. SS being my favorite but the Lorps and Barnies are social & sweet too. One of my Barnvelders. Their combs aren't too big.View attachment 1141398

They are sweet BC. But hard to find. I'm hooked on them & SS.

Good morning all.

Patsy still giving eggs. Every other day. I'm worried about a late molt on her. Little rascal. But she is junior's favorite and I'm sure he's treating her and she's nutritionally sound.

Just the little things I think about.

Tried some poached pears last night. Thanks to Giada for that recipe. Nummy and fresh tasting.

Did you get storms last night/early AM today @erlibrd?


I got a storm warning last this morning around 2:30 on my phone but when I looked they were north of us.

My first of three Dr appointments and tests for the day is over, Leaving for number 2 shortly.

@MNChickMom It appears Knucklehead should be renamed "Psycho". We were working in the pole barn yesterday, I had already had my ten minutes of cuddling time with him, and Judy had even petted him and told him how pretty he was. Of course, right after that she told me, he has crazy mean eyes.

We were about 15 feet from his cage when he went psycho. He was mad because he had run out of the feed he likes and only had about 1/2 of fines in his feeder. He had been out of feed for a full 10 minutes or so. He attacked his feeder for being empty. He grabbed the feeder with his beak and threw it across his cage. It is one of those hanging PVC pipe feeders I make, so it did not go far and swung back where it belonged. That really upset him and jumped at t with his feet and attacked it that way. The feeder still appeared to win. He was looking plumb crazy this whole time.

I pity the judge that upsets him in Hutch....Where he will win best of show.
