I think it's nicely descriptive, PC or not....if it was not politically incorrect, the word "carpetbagger" would be used.

Morning all.
So sorry to hear about the horse accidents. Having been removed from the back of a horse, by the horse, more times than I care to remember is why these old bones will not crawl up on another horse.
I saw the cardiologist yesterday. I need to have "a procedure" in a little over a month.
EJB, I was at an event the other day with the two other people running, I was not impressed one is about 12 years old and moved into the district 6 weeks ago...if it was not politically incorrect, the word "carpetbagger" would be used.
The other is mid 40's neither has held elected office before, both seem to to be switching their 'views" to that of the crowd they are with. I can't do that. I am now re-thinking it all. With the surgery coming up and the caucuses on Feb 6th. I am not sure how "campaigning" and recovering would work. There is an event on the evening of Nov 13 and my surgery is the 14th. Not sure I want to risk my life over an event.
I am not a person driven to be in office or that needs to be. I thought I could do some good, but I am not going to do it at all costs. My grandkids are the reason I wanted the job, but I want more to be here for my grandkids. Your insight is always beneficial.
So sad.Oh h h - had that first much needed cup of coffee - its not that I want to stay in bed on these cold mornings - honest, it does not cross my mind. Waking up seems so much more difficult to do.Right Erlibird? Have you always been such an early riser?
My d-i-l 14 year old niece went off a horse on Monday and hit her head. You guys - she died. I did not know her at all but the audacity of death and its indiscriminate selection of when to come is overwhelming. This young woman's father (d-i-l brother) passed suddenly about five years ago after a simple test (colonoscopy?) at a hospital. Her mother was with her when the accident happened. I always told my husband to enjoy his kids right now because there are no guarantees that they will be staying around. I guess that is true about everyone huh? So young!
Sometimes you gotta think of yourself first. You can't do anyone any good if your not here to do it.Morning all.

Ralphie, I will give you my biased perspective. I believe you would do a great job communicating with and representing the wishes of the members of your district.
I have no desire to be involved in the political process in the state of Minnesota and expect it will be a largely frustrating and unfulfilling endeavor for you ?
Long ago I considered myself a Democrat, but that party has evolved into something I can not generally support. I am a conservative Independent.
I say that in Minnesota the Democrats could run a dead dog for office and win. The sad thing is that a dead dog would be a better representative than those currently holding the offices of Governor and U.S. Senators for Minnesota.
I will apologize in advance if this post is too radical or political for this forum.
Ivie that is horrible, anything can happen when on a horse. My family seems to get really lucky with horse accidents.
Ralphie my friend and I were talking about how now most canidates seem to choosing views according to the audience. I think a big reason for people in the younger generation thinking it is ok is because of a debate/speech extracirricular known as Student Congress. You have a PO, a student who runs the meeting and is elected by the other kids in that house. There are 6 houses and then senate. Kids stand up and speak about bills, but of course the coaches choose what bills, and whether to go affirmitive or negative, they do whatever will get the most points so that the students and team can win. No matter what the students opinions or views are.
Thanks Holm. I am pretty naive when it comes to this stuff and sit stupefied that death crouches so close. I am no stranger to death - just the different mean by which it happens.Ivie I am so sorry to here about your relative... Just recently my moms BIL lost his aunt to the same deal...
