Surviving Minnesota!

Sounds broody.
Take the egg away and eat it . Do you have a rooster? It may not be fertile anyway.
Remove her from the nest a few times a day.

She's broody.
So proper protocol for this time of year is to remove her from the box several times and hope that breaks her?

If not, block off that box?

We're excited for chicks, but feels like we should wait for spring at this point.

Also, no guarantee of fertility though the rooster seems to be, um, paying them more attention lately.

I may try to sneak down to Hutch this weekend. Wife and I will be taking a couple of days away for our 10 year. She's not into the chicken thing so I'll tread lightly.

If I do not get a chance to make it, good luck to you all. I enjoy learning from you all and hope to meet you soon.
