Surviving Minnesota!

I see one semi-brave one.....and two "what the heck is that?"...
The "semi brave" one got pushed out the door! All the birds were lined up to get out but they had to wait and inspect the snow before turning around and going back to roost!

Before I was a fishing resort kid I was a farm kid in Winona County. Would visit grandparents (Mom's folks) just outside of Houston under Cushions Peak. Never saw a Timber rattler. Never looked for one either.
Ed I didn't know you were Iwegian for a while? You seem too salty and more range type.:lau:lau It's possible to imagine chicken cuddling now.

It's single digits with -2 Wind chill. Glad for plastic on the chooks' run. I will have to run down some more water before roost time as I'm sure it froze up not long after I brought it down this AM. I still haven't strung the electric over to the coop. But 35-40's on Saturday and through the next week. Looks like I can hold off a bit.

I've camped at Cushions Peak for Hoedown before! It's a pretty nice campground. Well you know the area well then, nice to have someone else from around here (even if you aren't still here) :) It seems most of you are far North, or West. I love hearing all the stories from around the state!

Hey. I worked there for a whole week 35 years or so ago......

I also got 7 eggs today. They made it to the house just fine.
Frozen poop is so much easier to get off the poop board. :love

BC, I lived in Iowa for a time many years ago. Traveled the Western half of Iowa and into E. Nebraska as a consultant advising farm businesses on Corporate and Partnership business planning and estate planning. Interesting work. I lived in the Des Moines river valley and saw snakes but no rattlers outside the exhibits at Ledges State Park which was not too far from my house. The neighbor behind me did have a mature African Lion that made a lot of noise.
I don't and never did consume enough alcohol to qualify as a Ranger, although I may be as vociferous as many of them. Perhaps I developed that when I worked in Hibbing. Another long story with a sad ending.

Hey Ralphie this should make you feel better . Janet asked me to check the oil in her tires . So I said do you want me to check the blinker fluid also . She said yes . :lau FYI I knew what she wanted . She knows there is no blinker fluid . So I checked the tires and filled the washer fluid .

Well my brother shot a fawn tonight. The deer here are SOOO much smaller than the deer up north where we always hunt. I'm not even kidding when I say that we had a few calves born that were bigger than this thing.
