Good morning poultry enthusiasts ! I do have to say that I prefer the weather thus far today over the last couple of days. I do not like the wet conditions with fog and drizzle mixed with rain. Even though colder today it is a dry cold.
Hope nothing in the Mn. Banana Belt gets frost bitten.

I appear to have 7 layers and 75 freeloaders....

I have 4 layers and 25 freeloading hens that are either lazy or not laying yet for goodness knows what reason. Kinda bad, considering that after this fall's big sell-off my oldest birds are just three years old and they're a rooster and a bantam hen.

Morning . Walked about 2 miles yesterday rabbit hunting . So knee is doing better . Not normal yet . Well maybe this is the new normal .

Morning. Speaking of freeloaders I have 30 layers, and only get about 10 eggs. Not happy with them.

My freeloaders were 12 for 30 yesterday...but one was frozen.

I have to go squirrel hunting, The other day when the sub came out I had 8 grey squirrels in the trees around my pens. It appears the worthless defective cats I got from the fast talking cat salesman are falling down on the job.....Also they seem to be eating a lot of cat food for the number of pests they are destroying...

The BBB refused to take a complaint on him as they say the file is full of complaints from Eskimos that bought Ice from him.....

Good Morning chickeners . . . . I like the weather outside today. The temp is lower but it 'seems' warmer. Gonna walk the dogs in a while. Now remember, Spring will come early in 2018 so be planning for it and not caught unaware. Thats because winter came early and I believe in blessings and that we will be blessed with the early spring because we, as humans, cannot endure too many months in our low-sun-index region and so will be blessed with warm air and much sunshine earlier than usual. I believe in Santa and the Tooth Fairy also.
I got six eggs out of 15 layers yesterday. There are five other free-loaders in that smaller coop. That number does not sound to bad after hearing yours. No lights or heat. I am going to install their radient heat soonly for when it goes below 0. Hoping it will cut the cost of a little heat for them compared to the heat lamps
