Yes some reports are less than 2 inches in places, just last week I saw open water. Days like yesterday windy and 32 degrees don't add to the ice depth.

I had a restless night of sleep with the incubator in my room. I think I will be moving it to my sisters room today since she likes the noise

I can do noises like chicks, or when my window is open. But any electric I can't sleep through, TV in the living room I can't sleep through. even in my old room, which had the dog house next to it I would hear the dog growl outside and I would wake up

I find them quite peaceful... I usually fall asleep watching them... Although I am switching over to heat plates for the brooder...

I think you’d want to wake up when the dog growls

Not me. The dog barks when its something that real threat, like predators. She growls at things like stray cats or maybe an unfamiliar noise. She goes down to the yard at least once a night and if I hear her barking down there and continues for a while I go check, but the coop is so far away from the house that if she barks for a minute or so down there I don't care.
