The only thing i've heard you can do to avoid prolapse is to put them in a dark place for a few days to keep them from laying until they heal, and some put preparation H in the area to reduce swelling.I had a Silkie Pullet lay for the second time since Hutch yesterday and I'm worried she is going to prolapse. She has a red "ball" that sticks out when I went to AI them today... it only sticks out when I AI them but goes back in shortly after I am done. Is there anyway to prevent it from coming out and staying out? With cows we would just stitch it up but that wouldn't work lol...
I think I may retire in Tennessee...A fridged 34 here in Memphis. Just got in from running my hound puppy. I know I'm wimpy...but that's quite chilly for us....
@duluthralphie maybe you should pick up some Jubilee Opringtons and let me know about their temperament...
