None of the eggs were pipped today so I threw them out. Not a happy camper.
I took the Red river Valley Fair out of my show list. It just didn't make sense to go to 3 shows in one month. So now the the hens I was going to take there will be shown in the Open Show at state fair. So there will be at least 4 blue cochins!

The girls look lovely after their molt and all fluffed our keeping warm is making them look huge and fluffy.

Here’s Sunny Two.

New Hampshire pullet. Waiting for the first egg.

Two blues and Lavender Ameraucana from Jerryse at the water fount. Miss kitty and Pearl are laying eggs for me right now. Such good winter babies.

Big old Lucy. She’s almost 4. I love this gorgeous bird. She’s a horse.

Miss Kitty. Currently laying me an olive egg almost every day. She was my broody this fall too.

And this is Hattie. Her new feathers that have come in are just gorgeous. Some dark. Some lighter blue.

Had to share.

All birds are accounted for tonight.

Ive ordered a new motion sensor light along with the blinking red lights nite gaurds or something. No sign of Foxy Loxy today.

Fridge took a poop today. Good times right before Christmas!

Bc they are looking goegeous, just lovely. I thought you had hardware cloth on your pen though? You may want to rethink just chicken wire. It will not keep a fox, or any other 4 legged predator out, if they want in. ..

She’s from one of MInniechickmomma’s huevos. I believe Minnie might have started her NH’s from Duane Urch as well. Glad to have her. I think she’s still growing to be honest. She’s coming along... can’t wait to see the egg and how she fairs production wise.

Oh, I know Cluckies. I’ve got a bunch of work to get a going on. I have for 6 years got away with this run. I had left the doors wide open for free ranging even in winter but the chicks don’t go any where but the run and coop now with snow and they are fox bait. The run wrapped in plastic has deterred I think believe it or not. I should do clear panels like you have done to be honest. For now I’ll do hardware cloth on the lower part to start off. Once in the coop at night and pop door closed they are protected. Coop is solid. Run is not.

This was the temp in he coop before I left at 8 last night... Pretty happy with how warm it stays considering it's a big room with only 18 birds and half are Cornish and Silkie Bantams!
