Surviving Minnesota!

I use heated dog waterers in some of the cages. I am not all that fond of them. They are a pain to clean and they always seem to need cleaning... Cleaning requires dumping old water...Dumping water I carry is a negative to me.

I like the steel founts on the heated bases. BUT the heated bases do not last all that long, I have a couple that are 2 years old and they no longer heat.

I wish I could find those sticky heater elements and just replace them or the thermostat instead of having to buy new.

I have one that quit working this winter with a full fount on it. I am sure the ice has cracked the fount and a $50 fount is ruined..

EJB if you could make a list of what speeds up global warming for us, it would be appreciated. I hate burning tires and Styrofoam if it is not helping the cause.

This cold is just hard on sh... stuff..

-24! This morning. Driving through town -15. Sort of crazy what cement and tar does.

DS was out testing his new k-drill ice auger (He loves it BTW--but must get the Milwaukee drill with extra handle) Anyways he thinks about 21 inches of ice in our bay. Catching up now!

Oh. No Foxy Loxy prints this morning that I saw.

We have about 8 inches of ice in some spots and 12 in others... We have BAD ice this year and yet there is still ice castles out on big Detroit.... A car went through the ice the other day... People...

Spotty ice conditions. DH is driving his truck just in our bay. No worries doing it. But he cannot or would not drive it across the lake. If your unsure just 4 wheeler for us anyways. I would bet their is 8-10 in the middle of our lake. It's a huge discrepency here too. Leech: people dropping in all over the place there for a while.
