Thanks. I'm becoming quite fond of them. My husband doesn't want me to sully our flock with some other breeds but I'd love to get 4-6 more laying hens that mature a little faster this spring.

Basketball and binging on stranger things have kept me busy folks.

Boys ice fished yesterday. Lots of fish houses moving onto the lakes and traffic that resembled ice fisherman on the roads.

Junior looked slightly better today. His hind end still tipped down a bit but not bad this evening at roost time. Wattles blackening but not as swollen. Progressing.

Chicken dumpling soup sounded good tonight so I made some. Family loved it. Nobody’sbeen Sick—knock on wood. Just liked the sound of soup.

That comb is a thing of the past ...I did not save one this year...and I even have hens being zapped by frost..

My prayers have been answered. It was +25 at 0500 this morning. I do admit with the increased relative humidity it does not feel that much better than -25 ?
