Surviving Minnesota!

Aha! Ed I was first wasn’t I? I’ve got my clock turned upside down lately. Didn’t sleep until 3:30. We are STILL talky talky about a mattress but the little woman here is about ready to horse collar the little man- hijack the hunting and fishing pick up truck- that seems to be booked every weekend—and go get the darn thing already. The topper of memory foam is extremely hot and that was the deal last night.

Makes for groggy mornings though that’s for sure.

Bonjour to you German peoples. :frow

Our deer flies are bad but those biting (at the ankles) black flies do their damage too. Banty Ontario has no-seeums just north of us. You got those too more East?
I've heard black flies called no-seeums too, seems to be some dissention as to which name applies to which critters. The beasts I am talking about like the cool weather that makes up much of our summer, they breed in running water, and they swarm around moisture. Mainly, your eyes and nose and mouth. And they BITE anywhere they can reach. Those bits swell up and ooze and hurt like nobody's business, especially when on an ankle! I am now confident what I am calling black flies are actually black flies but I'm pretty sure Ralph thinks something big and buzzy is a black fly. I wouldn't trust Google on the subject of what a black fly is because they all contradict themselves.

Deer flies hurt wicked bad but at least they give warning. They're really easy to confuse too: just wear a hat. You stop existing to them.

Oh, and name a biting bug... any bug. We've got scads of them.

Went out and caught a few more Crappies last night. Caught ten Crappies and 2 Northerns but tossed the Northerns back as they weren't that big. Not bad considering we got there at 4:45
