What I am most impressed with is her stance. She has really wide set legs, I think I've sent you pictures.Mate her, see what you get. She might get you a cockerel you can use to start a single line with.
She looks good structurally, but those darn orangish hackle feathers stink. I have fought to get rid of them.
You candled more than once in a week? I think we should call the insane asylum.I re-candled my eggs today. I did not heave them out the other day.
I wanted a second candling. I found 4 eggs with veins I missed on Wednesday. I found 2 I am not sure of....and I lost two that were good to the red circle of death......BUT I will give them a chance to come back to life, after all Easter is upon us.
I have 25 good eggs, 8 semi-good eggs. I moved the questionable eggs to the bottom shelf so if they explode the top shelf eggs should be ok.

You are so sweet and thoughtful.I know!
I never candle before day 18. BUT this batch of eggs has the potential to explode and make a terrible stinky mess....So I was thinking of Saint Judy and how much she would suffer having to clean up the rotten exploded egg mess from my incubators...
So I candled twice in one week.
I have gotten a few people asking me about eggs, I am having enough problems getting my own eggs that are fertileHolms do you have Cochins ? I thought you did. I know Layers does but she’s waaaay West.
How much feed are they getting? My blue from Rick was to fat to lay so she is on a diet nowI do but they are SLACKERS!!!!!!!!!! They haven’t laid yet and the pullets been squatting for months... The best I have from them is mutts right now...![]()
The two together are getting a scoop of 18% flock raiser and some BOSS. I think he feeds them straight corn or some corn mixture... Incouldnt get her to eat anything but corn for the longest time...I have gotten a few people asking me about eggs, I am having enough problems getting my own eggs that are fertile

He doesn't feed straight corn, I don't think he feeds corn at all, when I met him he told what he feeds from hatch to adult hood. All my pullets and hens get is roughly 1/4 cup layer feed in the morning(some get more some get less), and in the evening I sprinkle some oats on the floor, so that when the lights come on at around 1am they have something to scratch for and eat.The two together are getting a scoop of 18% flock raiser and some BOSS. I would be glad to get you some eggs once they are fertile. Im pretty easy going about things so sure we could figure it out for what eggs you had at the time? I only have Icelandics, I am just an incubating-aholic lol.
