This gives you the basic idea . I use dog nail trimmer then cauterize with a soldering iron or blood stop powder . You must stop the bleeding .

I have used a pet dremmel and shaved (sanded) it back, it deters them for a week until the re-growth happens. I have not taken drastic measures yet as I am not certain if I will show them or not ....

The bonus with the dremmel is that I normally get an unplanned manicure while using the dremmel.

I found a very sharp cutter thingy that works really good... Haven’t had any issues with it... I don’t cut them too far back... I’ll get pics tonight..

I mentioned wanting to use my dremmel on a tooth that has a small chip in it to my dentist yesterday....The way she talked to me for mentioning that was....well... it was like Saint Judy talking to me.....
