It is spring time-----as far as my young roosters are concerned.
I had to move Ed into the Chick pen. The young hoodlums were harassing him and had nipped off the back of his comb. Ed is just too kind to fight back. He seems to be safe in the chick pen.
It is amazing what he puts up with from the chicks. They are crawling all over him. pecking under his feathers, his beak and so on. He just takes it in stride.
Cuddles sat on my lap for a while today, he wanted out of the cage. I wish the weather would turn decent so I could get the cleaning done and make new larger pens for the SS and Doms.
The young cockerels had best start to behave. I do not really need them, and if they keep this bad behavior up, they will become models for the next disassembly class. Ed has rights to hang around, they have none. This includes Doorknob, AKA Knuckleheads brother.
I see the outside rooster have harassed one of the smaller white Legbar roosters to the point I might have to put it down. If I do have to put it down all the roosters in the pen shall suffer the same fate on the same day......
It is spring and I am short on patience regarding roosters and toms.
