Ralphie, Good luck with your inspection today.
Congrats to all the celebrations.
Rain is not allowed in Mayhew Lake Township or Graham Township for at least another week.
We had an incredibly busy last week and weekend. First, my mother - in -law had open heart surgery on Thursday, which left some of the farm chores to us, and my sister-in-law. My daughter had her play performance this weekend as well. Son had his final youth football game of the season at St. Cloud State University.
We culled 25 (ish) old hens and 2 PITA roosters. We had Amazon ship us a Yardbird plucker....once we get the hang of it, I think this will be a wise investment. We had troubles with the wings not wanting to pluck. (So I said cut them off....there is no meat on the wings anyway.) A wise person told me to invest in a pipe cutter to help with some parts of the processing of the birds. I will be investing in a 2nd pipe cutter as it seems with 4 of us butchering someone always needed "the cutters." I sold 22 young birds from this years hatch. I no longer have any Yokahomma's....part of me is sad to see them go the other part says....remember focus on only a few breeds....
Did some much needed yard clean up last night......who in the heck dropped all their leaves in our yard over the winter. I swear we picked them up last fall. Now waiting for some black dirt to fill in the monsterous ruts and reseed the back yard.
I just saw the forecast for today...I am pretty sure I will have the 3 o'clock flu.
I hope everyone has a great day and learns from my mistake...."Remember the Sunblock"
