Surviving Minnesota!

It's time to sell some of my pullets and cockerels. I have a taker for one cockerel.

I only want to keep 4 pullets. Any tips on how to pick which ones to keep? They're now 6 weeks. I was thinking about putting them out with the flock after we get back from the weekend. How do I feed them separately from the layers? They can't reach the layer feed yet, but how do I keep the layers out of the starter?

Now that summer is here and I'm bored I figured I'd upload some summer pics lol...

Pretty little Char/Angus heifer..Not a keeper candidate..

Some hay ground... If we don't need it we will turn the cattle out on half of it in a month or two...

This is the cow that aborted her calf the end of February. She is doing a beautiful job raising this little Holstein steer..

Just got home from the lake with a few friends... No I'm tired and have to be up at 6... Goodnight...

Morning. Finally got home around 8 last night from state track. As always it was fun. I got 6th in both of my events which wasn't as good as I had wanted to do coming into the season but with all of the injuries I have had this year I am happy with the results.

Here is my favorite picture from state track. Me and my best friend on the track team who is a freshman. She got 3rd in long jump, beating her rival from our region, and 7th in the 200.
I must say our region is dominant it is crazy!! For Class B girl relays, jumps, and sprints, there were always more then 2 girls from our region on the podium.

Congrats Layers and for your friend as well. Can't win them all and just being in the State Meet is an accomplishment in itself.

Morning:

The heat has taken it's toll. I lost Ed and the oldest Toad rooster yesterday, along with a younger one and an old hen.

They seem to do better in the below freezing than in the 95+ plus range.

I could use the help of a Holm also Erlibrd, please share him.

I hope Camboy enjoys the lake.
