With manure from seven hens...

I used to weed and feed and then I got chickens. Didn’t want to get them sick with the chemicals.

I think we’ve got heat and rain working out there.

Ha! I keep leading them to the dishes I set out but they just ignore me and opt for the bird bath or the dirt I'm trying to grow grass in :/

There is a chicken rule of thumb you need to understand:

The likelihood of an area becoming a dirt bath for chickens is directly proportional to how badly you want grass in the same area.

I had issues with the birds making deep holes by the coop step so I put a handful of small cherry tomatoes sized rocks and pine needles and they no longer use the spot...
