Surviving Minnesota!

Finally got some rain today! It sprinkled from about Noon-6pm. First day of school tomorrow, gonna be a junior. We have been working on fixing up a barn to make into a layer coop. So far we have the brooder room done and most of the roof sealed up. We also put 2 windows in our rabbit house

57-58 degrees this morning Jerry. Good day for Roofing and outdoor projects. ;)

We are busier than March Hares around here this week. Kids have an open house tomorrow at the school. Today is DH and my anniversary. And preparations for a camping weekend in the RV Labor Day weekend. Headed to Lake Vermilion on Moccasin Point. I suspect *bullhead* fishing and hammocking will be on the docket.

DS found a truck. :highfive: . After 3 months of dealing with the under-insured and finding the right price/value of a rust free truck in Minnesota with High miles with a clueless adjuster in Texas. We settled, took a hit. But to be done with it_ we are glad. And found a truck at Schwieters in Cold Spring.

I have 11 birds. I want to get down to one Cockerel leaving 10. But again and I'm probably repeating myself: The fox situation has me leary to give up an extra. So far no issues with the boys and the older hens are dealing with the randy dominique. So we are riding it out a bit here.
Per the request of two kids.

Patsy Kline my Welsummer dropped her feathers like confetti. That poor bird looks and I think feels rough. Tuna cans and freezer burned venison ends have been going out to my molting girls. Lucy the BLRW and Kitty the Blue Ameraucana are going through it with Patsy too. 4 other girls will follow close behind.

That barred rock I acquired lays an egg every other day or every 3 days. She is such a friendly and now demanding little thing. She roosts in the big girl coop every night now. The younger 3 still strong on going into the garage for me. Total pita.:hmm

Happy anniversary BC, have a great weekend. I’m going to Wisconsin camping this weekend with my cousin ( no RV) so hopefully the weather is good. DH is staying home with the critters.
So far the molting is slow here, I hope they finish up before the - temps hit. Maybe you should keep the extra rooster for warmth in the coop.
