Surviving Minnesota!

I agree with layers on the steel Stanley. Been using ours around here quite a few years.

But I understand that quality has been suffering lately in ‘new ‘ products lately as factories cut corners/ standards to save money.
Yes quality has gone down . Stanley used to last . I now have a Stanley fat max that will not retract . A Menards MasterForce same problem the cheap Pittsburg here at home still working . :idunno Guess I will buy 2 more Pittsburg and return the MasterForce for warranty replacement .

I’ve had good luck with my Irwin tape I use it every day for work and it retracts very well the guys I work with also like the Milwaukee tapes

The campground I used to take my son camping is no longer enjoyable. They put up street lights and leave them on all night. Your tent is never dark. Vehicles, teens maybe? were driving through the campgrounds all night, someone's car alarm went off at 4 am...
I won't go back, wouldn't recommend the place to anyone. We only spent the one night there.

Erli -- Sorry to hear that your traditional spot has been going down hill. That's hard to see I'm sure. The thing about camping is that it is sometimes fun to explore new spots. We've been camping in some of the same ones now for 3 years. I kind of miss exploring the different ones like we did the first couple years. There's a bunch of neat ones north of Winnibigosh on the avenue of the pines. We tried Whiteface Reservoir one year --and I didn't care for that one. Water quality and plus my DD's feet covered in miniscule leeches didn't help. Her one foot actually swelled up. So gross.

Another brisk morning
