Good Morning!
As a resident of Ralphie’s district, I will say he is the only candidate that has ran a clean campaign. This is a very Red district, Ralphie has been given a ton of ammunition (dirt that people have dug up on his opponents) but he has not stooped to those levels.
As for deer hunting, I still hunt as we have a 14 year old daughter and a son that will turn 12 this week, so we want to give them opportunities to determine whether this is a sport that want to partake in. We live very near the rifle/shotgun line in MN so depending upon our hunting location we must be mindful of our choice of guns. I grew up in shotgun zone and favor a 20 gauge Remington 870 express (youth model), well my daughter fell in love with it and she spent a lot of time and effort dialing it in to perfection over the past 3 years so I think it is a lost cause. My husband has a 12 gauge that has brought him much luck and a few meals for the family so due to their comfort levels with shotguns they were partnered and sent to shotgun zone.
My son (whom I love dearly but why does he have to be determined, stubborn, moody and a perfectionist) was given a 270 rifle to sight in and become one with, well after a few life savings investments in Winchester he was comfortable. So because I lost my gun and son needs to hunt as an apprentice, I felt compelled to offer to sit with him. We saw a nice spike buck yesterday morning, but it was “only opening morning and his father could be in the neighborhood.” So we sit again last night, we pass on first big doe because it’s a doe, then 2nd doe comes in with 2 fawns and his scope breaks (has a floater). Now, he is pissed, grandpa looks at it and says this is problem for your dad. Husband offers a different rifle that son has shot numerous times and offers to sit with him, word is he has passed on a couple of nice deer this morning. I wish I could gently remind him that not every year you see deer and that he will be remorseful once the season is over. (Our season has been shortened as husband is taking the kids to Ohio national poultry show next weekend. )
Happy hunting y’all!
