Surviving Minnesota!

Good morning. First day of two days off for the children. They live near the deep purple vortex section of the map . The parents will go to work still. But brrr. I might get my mail and other bits sorted and head back home to ref and stay warm. Tend to my birds. Etc.

Another layer. Sunny Two has joined the foray. So 3 hens laying. It’s the red lamp I’ve turned on to keep them warm.

Will bolster the coop with more straw. I can’t find my electrolyte bag. I usually like doing that in the coop. I got them more grit the other day.
Loved the article on the egg laying song which is actually a ‘come escort me’ song. ( on the carousel / home page) Chicken behavior is by far my favorite part of the hobby. Not poop cleaning really.

Not only is it cold outside, I have to walk outside for one of my classes which is miserable, at least that building has heat now, and our lunch count was off by 8 people so 8 of us including me should not have gotten lunch, but it was only hot ham and cheese so they made some luke warm ones.

Reminds me of many years ago waiting for a bus after school and my contacts were freezing to my eyes, I had to keep squinting to keep the freezing air out. The bus never did show up so I had to choose between a ride with a stranger or freeze to death.
