Surviving Minnesota!

What an idiot!! As IF a dux is worth as much as a chicken or turkey right? :lau:lau:lau

I think you are warped or under the influence as much as the person offering to trade for the dux...

In order to make the trade fair and equitable, the Dux would have to be accompanied but 3 turkeys and 3 chickens, to get this person (me) to even take the dux...

I would expect the dux to be well fatted and ready to be processed.......

Quiet bunch today.

I started tapping a few trees yesterday. I was going to tap more today, but I needed to make a brewery grain run.

I have decided on the 5 legbar hens I am keeping now.

I have to go through the rest of them soon. I need to find 3-4 Doms to keep..... Also I was reviewing the SOP, I need to try and get larger redder ear lobes.

I should just give up on the chanticlers, and eat them.....BUT I will try again to make the perfect one.

The hardest ones to get down to 3-4 hens will be the SS. I like them all.

I only have 4 white legbar hens. so they are easy, I will just keep them all...

I will get rid of any of the layers I have except a couple of the oldest ones, BUT there does not seem to be much interest in them.....

@erlibrd I have a sister of Princess you could have to make a pair of green egg laying chanticlers......Same price as Princess !!! :lau:lau:lau

Old age I guess...

Yep, the poor thing cries she misses her old home badly. I tell her when the weather gets better she will have a ride home. It just breaks my heart to see her so miserable.

Her crying does not bother me a bit...I think BC,,,,Holms or Jerry want to try the green egg laying chanticler...

We just got back from snowshoeing.... We went about a mile. It was NOT my idea...I am beat. I had layers on and still sweated to through all three layers. My tee shirt was soaked....The WW talked the whole time....why?

I wanted to see deer and animals and sneak up on them.

She enjoyed the trip. Of course, I was delegated to break the trail. I think the idea behind the snowshoes was for me to have a heart attack and her win the insurance lottery.

I found I have a lot of deer hanging close to the buildings in the wind breaks.....Could be next weeks supper if times get tough. The dog went with us, she is beat also. It took her a while to figure out the back of the pack is the easiest place to walk.

I am hoping I can use the snow shoes to go fishing next week...

I wonder how hard it is to swim in snowshoes if I break through the ice. Just think of how thin of ice I could fish on with my weight distributed over a larger area. I could get that late winter/early spring crappie bite!
