Surviving Minnesota!

I gotta say I love this time of the year. I go to school, track practice, come home do chores and then the rest of the night I am able to listen or watch regional and state basketball games the rest of the night. Not a big fan of playing basketball but I love watching it, especially Class B. Right now I am listening to our boys regional championship game, and watching the Class A boys state semifinals. Tomorrow night will be Class A girls state

Her crying does not bother me a bit...I think BC,,,,Holms or Jerry want to try the green egg laying chanticler...

We just got back from snowshoeing.... We went about a mile. It was NOT my idea...I am beat. I had layers on and still sweated to through all three layers. My tee shirt was soaked....The WW talked the whole time....why?

I wanted to see deer and animals and sneak up on them.

She enjoyed the trip. Of course, I was delegated to break the trail. I think the idea behind the snowshoes was for me to have a heart attack and her win the insurance lottery.

I found I have a lot of deer hanging close to the buildings in the wind breaks.....Could be next weeks supper if times get tough. The dog went with us, she is beat also. It took her a while to figure out the back of the pack is the easiest place to walk.

I am hoping I can use the snow shoes to go fishing next week...

I wonder how hard it is to swim in snowshoes if I break through the ice. Just think of how thin of ice I could fish on with my weight distributed over a larger area. I could get that late winter/early spring crappie bite!

Ralphie, perhaps the size snowshoe you are using is too small for the weight load it is carrying ? Thus the user will sink deeper into the snow than desired ?
No more Peter Cottontail at erli's. I have some here and have numerous owls, but the rabbits are good at hiding from them. I dislike owls almost as much as I dislike hawks. The people on the Sax Zim Bog Facebook site are seemingly infatuated with owls ?
This winter is the pitts, and more cold weather is forecast through the end of March. My chickens and their guinea friend have been cooped up an inordinately long time this winter. Perhaps I should get them some snowshoes ?

My previous post is old but did not go through when directed to.
We are scheduled to receive 6 to 12 inches of additional snow. Neither I nor my birds are in favor of it.
This is the worst winter for combined snow and cold temps which I can remember. I wish the climate change ignoramuses would be sent to my place. I would make them pitch a tent and live in it for a week. Yes, the climate changes daily, however there is no proof that man's influence on it is material. There is much propaganda promoting the various climatic occurrences being a result of the use of fossil fuels. This is because so many are gullible enough to swallow it hook line and sinker. Those at the top of this have their own agenda which centers around power and money.
