Surviving Minnesota!

I’m good. A lot better than yesterday. Almost no pain? They don’t think it is a hernia. More like an infection of some sort. Will see how I’m feeling tomorrow

Glad your doing Ok!

The WW made me go for a "walk" on snowshoes again today. We went to the "island" and back. The Island is a small rise in the swamp about 1/2 mile from the house it is on the back side of the south 40. It is about 1/8 mile of heavy swamp to go through.

This shows the snow the deep snow and the tree line on the edge of the swamp, the open space is my pasture.

This is just as we are entering the woods looking back at the farmstead. The large shed is my chicken coop . You can see the snowshoe path. Where we are standing I could not reach the ground with my poles. They are 5.5 ft tall.

the tree line and the swamp behind it. You can see we are much higher than the tree bases, mainly because we are on top a snow drift.

This is the tree line where I allow those unable to shoot a deer because of poor aim to sit....... @camboy77

A deer trail through my trees, if you look closely you can see the deer stand in the tree straight ahead. Still 3-4ft of snow under us.

We found a fur bearers track, I thought Coyote but seems too small, not a fox because too large and not straight line. Maybe bobcat but I think I see nails, which I should not do on a bobcat...Ideas? they are about 2 1/2 inches across.

This is the photo I picked the close up above from, as you can see, not a straight line.

We came across a spot that proves rabbit feet are not always lucky.
IMG_9071 (3).JPG

It appears fresh, snow yesterday and nothing over this, but we saw no good tracks going to it. We were both pretty sure something got the rabbit, and it did not die of natural causes...

I am not sure if this is a track or not. I saw no bird tracks or angel wings in the snow around it.

We are in deep snow in the swamp and it is hard to walk in the grass below holds the snow up so we sink with each step...The pole is 5.5 ft again

Here the WW is sinking to her knees on her snowshoes...Do not tell her this means she needs bigger shoes or to lose weight,,,,,She did not appreciate it.

The following are just photo bombs of the swamp, It is a tamarack swamp and kind of a neat place,,,,was a better place before the Feds stole it...
