Surviving Minnesota!

What he said. And that goes for all the ‘cakes-in-cellophane’ genre. :sick There’s a weird plastic-ish quality to the fat in the copious icky frosty... OOH! And I was gonna eat breakfast! I did NOT understand the nation-wide mourning when they said ‘No more Twinkies.’ What? They still made those? Eeew.
I have never eaten a twinkie, or moon pie

I have eaten honey buns and star crunch  not sure if the honey buns from 50 yrs ago were made different, but I liked those... back then. The ones I tried in the 1990's tasted different to me.... could be me.

Twinkies were addicting...

I grew up in Florida. My parents moved us down there for water skiing and the building boom (that followed the widespread availability of air conditioning LOL). So... northern parents... I didn’t even know what grits were until my teens.:lau Ohmygoodness, SO yummy! They had no idea. Mom’s favorite porridge was Cream of Wheat.

I likewise had zero exposure to Moon Pies, etc. Didn’t miss anything there, imo, but if I had started eating them young, maybe I’d feel differently.

Grits or moonpies ... I think I prefer starvation.

Speaking of do any of you watch “naked and afraid”?

I am addicted to it.. my favorite show...the last one had a woman that went 17 or 19 days just eating tree leafs.

While I do like some of the adventuresome back boondocks reality TV on the Discovery Channel. I find the pervasive Californianess seeping into their productions. The unrealistic drama of finding Bear Poop that boo-boo probably dropped a week ago, etc.etc.
Nekkid and Afraid. We've all done the Undie and PJ Run to the coop with predators around no doubt. Am I right? Good enough....

:gig Ralphie. I know why you're watching that show.....

So Okay. I loved the Dream House special that HGTV puts on. This year it was up in the mountains somewhere. Gorgeous house they built and they wanted Moose horns put on the ultra modern Fireplace. A nice mixture. They went to an artist who uses real horns--alot of sheds--with his 'sculpture'. I saw that the Moose horns they picked out had skull attached for mounting purposes. The TV show then mentions ethical mounted horns in their recap of the Great Room. I'm assuming they meant non-hunted was 'ethical' . I had a resentment moment --scoffing at the tv shouting at it and said,' that moose got a bullet you nimrods'! Arrogance and ignorance is prolific on TV. And the older I get, the harder I am on that combination of attributes. ugh.... Sorry for the rant folks.
