Surviving Minnesota!

I kinda do want one—a nice boy to keep my girls happy and safely preggers so the bad (huge) boys aren’t coming around to party. That BA bull would literally break their backs if he got to them. They’re not miniatures, but Highlands aren’t all that big anyway. They’re all excited, jumping up on one another... My “dealer” says I can always eat him if he’s cranky. I think I could do that...

I could put him in my freezer if your out of room.

Well, I’d be okay with that, Ralphie. He’d make a heckuva freezer full... only the rancher that owns him might object...

I suggest you process him fast and get him here before he figures out what happened to him..

Also practice saying “ I saw a cougar here the other night that looked really hungry “

I heard about the cougar sighting . You suppose a certain used cat salesman is going for larger cats ? So here is a report on Black Raspberries . Not suppose to be hardy here . Mac Black did fine and will bloom soon . Jewel survived and is blooming . Not as vigorous grower as Mac . Niwot AKA Sweet Repeat died to the snow line . So limited bloom from old wood . New growth will bloom later for fall crop . There is a Pequot black raspberry and a Pequot blackberry . Bred by someone in the Pequot lakes area . Have not tried them . Very new . I have a wild blackberry at home that did not have dieback after our unusual - 28 days . Hmm might try a start here . So many plants not tested for zone 3 .

Bright and sunny here today, spring has finally arrived.

Just planning to putter around in the yard today, might start some cuttings. Definitely need to mow the yard. I get stubborn about the lawn maintenance pressure around here. When one person starts mowing, the whole town joins in. Drives me crazy for some reason. Yesterday was lawn mowing day for everyone. I refuse to mow in tandem.

My grandparents had a 50th anniversary party on Saturday, it was nice to see lots of the family again.
Helped a cloverbud wash his bird yesterday, my younger sister washed her Wyandotte. Today and tomorrow I need to wash my Cochins, show is Wednesday morning. I have 12 Cochin eggs I need to set, I was hoping I would have a broody but for the first time in months I don't have a single one.
Hopefully sometime this week during county fair I can meet up with one of the ag teachers at the local college, he does a lot during the fair to help the local extension office, I am hoping there is maybe one ag scholarship I can get and then most of my college should be paid for. Still not sure if ag is what I want to go into but I still have over a year to decide
