Surviving Minnesota!

Not hot here today. Thankfully. I'll be working on the roof again. It will be nice not to feel like I'm turning into roast human.
We have people for that (gente, as it turns out, quien no hablan Englís.) The insurance company is paying them and we’re not in a position to pick nits... nobody else would take the job or even offer up an estimate, and it’s definitely out of my league roofing-wise. I just hope we don’t get another hailstorm next week. The house is really noisy today. Luckily it’s not too hot—73* at 11:00 a.m.

I am headed to De Smet tomorrow to get my girls a bull. I know, I know, but I really want my little farmette to be sustainable and the lady (yes, yes, the nice lady who is selling whichever bull I pick—like I have a clue how to pick out a bull), says Highlands don’t get pregnant very reliably via AI.

Anyway, let’s just be honest here... I am willing to believe her because she’s giving me a good deal, I have a lot of grass, and mostly because I just want a bull. If I regret it later I will eat my words (and my bull). DH is not angry—but he’s not exactly happy, either. I’m hoping he falls in love with the bull as he has with the two nice girls. If my new buddy gets the mean-girl preggers, I will sell her. If he doesn’t, then I’ll send her to freezer camp... as soon as I get another freezer...

When it comes to bulls look for nuts guts and butts. Does she have any pictures of them for you?

I'm only doing our addition, not the main roof. Too steep, too high, no bueno. I'll hire that done.
This part HAD to be taken care of. I'm trying to prep the house to paint it and found major water damage, which led to finding issues with that roof. The owners before us had done a really terrible fix up there that caused this snowball effect. Dumb people.
