Surviving Minnesota!

We did pretty good considering I haven't really been down with the birds in two months.

My younger sister got 1 on her Bantam Wyandotte Partridge cock in the junior show

My cochin flock is slowly getting smaller, sold a pair this weekend. Now I'm down to
4 hens, 2 cockerels(one has a home he needs to go to), 2 cocks(one has a home he needs to go to also), a recessive white, and two young blacks. Hoping to get down to the 4 hens, the white, and the 2 young blacks by mid November

We did pretty well at the show.

In open class I had best of breed in large fowl buckeye. I had a trio of bantam buckeyes that took champion AAOCL. And I had reserve trio in the large fowl buff Orpington. A few scattered placing sat the district meet for Orps.

My kids showed in junior show and did extremely well:

Daughter took 3rd place in showmanship and son 5th place both in intermediate showmanship.
Bantam buckeye cockerel took grand champion aaocl. Then they showed bantam buff and black Orps. The bantam buff cockerel took reserve SCCL. Then large fowl, my daughter pulled a buff orp cockerel out of cull pen 2 weeks ago and she took best if variety, best of breed, champion English and reserve champion landfowl.

Congratulations MCM and Layers!

Uhhh I wanted to be there. Next year DD will be in Willmar— I think. So this show may come easier for me.

Holms are you the newest with some duckies?

Gutters cleaned. Halloween. Hauling water again from basement floor ducts. 270 gallons with a bit more to go.
Bathroom projects.

DS made this toilet topper in shop class out of Walnut. I got the pipe towel bar.

Did you know that the pipe fittings are stamped USA again? Last time I shopped it out they had China stamped all over them. True story.

Bogtown- That is beautiful. Your son did a great job!

I just want to shout out and say there were a few youth members with links or ties to this thread. Every last one of them participated and did very well in showmanship, some of them are humble and are not posting their results but as a participant of this thread let me be the first to say we are proud beyond words. (Yes I am even proud of the individuals that placed higher than my daughter on this thread. :celebrate:D!)

Nicely said... I feel the same to all that went to the show when us slackers did not....

with the exception of the person who relapsed into dux ownership.... I worked for years to reform him.... now he is caught up in them again..

the pain is more than I can bear...
