Surviving Minnesota!

Wow, it’s coming down buckets! Hope this one doesn’t stay all night and heads south fast 😉

We survived the winds and rain. The wind did its usual blowing down of rotten branches — Mother Nature cleaning house I always say. — for us we have a pretty open yard.
Sentry and the girls are ok. I wormed here last week. After egg production went down and before the molt. Freya is hanging in there. I thought I was losing my black Ameraucana but she seems better too. Maybe the worming was hard on her.

I have these boulder retaining walls that have become very over grown and am finally tackling them. Reclaiming. I forgot how pretty they are underneath. Have found the garter snakes love them and found some hornets or wasps in one hidey hole. I had two squirts of wasp killer. Will need to pick up another can. So can resume.

bee balm is blooming in the garden and appreciated by both chickens and hummingbirds alike.

Jerry I bet they are the sweetest and best cucumbers.
Ralphie is correct. I’m on Instagram. And that’s my code name on there. 😂And I actually like better than FB. It’s all my chicken stuff, gardening, other projects. few proud mom pics. And lake sunsets... so on and so forth. I think there is a lot that I’ve shared here also. So don’t feel pressure to add on another app. However I do like the steady stream of chicken and gardening ideas on there.

My sister has a domestic Concord grape vine trained on a chain link fence at her 1950’s bomb shelter stucco house in The south metro. ( not kidding the walls are like 2 feet thick.) anyways she gave me a few slips last week. And I think I’ve kept the vines alive enough. The rooting hormone finally arrived today from the great state of California. Why is mail from there so slow? I mean it honestly... is the mail service somehow impaired over there on those longitudinal lines? Or do the warehouses load up on surfer dudes?

anyways if the guy from YouTube knows what he’s talking about I should have roots in 25 days.
