I survived. 60 mph winds and 75 degrees is not good for deer hunting. I only heard a couple shots today.

I would be out of thereSitting in a deer stand gives one a chance to enjoy nature and ponder things.
As the rain started it was so peaceful...
then the first thunder was heard and I pondered “what was that?”
“Could that be thunder in November”?
Then I saw the first flashes of lightning and knew it was really thunder.
Then I pondered other things like “is a person sitting on top of a steel structure 18 ft above the ground during a lightning storm either safe or very intelligent?
I will ponder this longer..
You already know the answer . Ponder this Judy is out buying raffle tickets while you hunt .Sitting in a deer stand gives one a chance to enjoy nature and ponder things.

Thanks for sharing . Good memories were made there .Just a little to the north of Ralphie.....across the big shotgun/rifle divide, a son and his father were put on a hunting hiatus. Yes, the evil mother/wife took away all hunting rights until she could be guaranteed that she would not be the one butchering venison.
Daughter shot a nice doe on the youth hunt. View attachment 2405240
Her first deer ever! 5 years of hunting finally paid off.
We will caption the next picture "Innocence". Son says I shot a nice one can you help me find it.View attachment 2405244
Found it! Nice fat 8 pointer. Now to remove it from the creek bed (aka BIG DITCH)View attachment 2405241
Grandparents we love you not just because you are loving and listen but because you have the big boy toys. (About half way up the hill Grandpa stopped and asked for payment on his tow bill. ) LOL
Finally, hubby took out a nice buck too but we had to process everything so quickly we didn't get pictures. View attachment 2405242

Looks like a great day of hunting! We have a “you kill it you clean it” rule that’s strictly enforced. We hunt and process our deer with DH’s sister and BIL and our nephews and sons. Anything else gets cleaned by the hunter/fisherman. This rule was implemented shortly after we got married. I was young and naive and knew how to clean ducks and pheasants, so at first I would offer to clean whatever we got when we hunted. But then he’d go out in the morning, kill something and leave it on the doorstep without even asking me to take care of it. That’s when “the rule”’went into effect. I will still sometimes offer to clean a bird or two, and he’ll sometimes ask and I’ll do it, but they don’t just get dropped off anymore. I have never learned how to fillet a fish, but I think that’s OK.Just a little to the north of Ralphie.....across the big shotgun/rifle divide, a son and his father were put on a hunting hiatus.
