We haven’t had a frost yet but I think it’ll be very soon. The low is forecast 37 tonight. My chickens are wimps with this barely chilly temps, they better get used to it quick I got jabbed in the eyeball today and feel like .

After several days of rain and cloud cover at the head of the lake we have some sun today.
Also had to scrape the windshield before driving to breakfast this morning. We are soon to experience a transition to more normal temperatures and more solid moisture. The chickens free range and are happy. They eat little of the pellets in their feeder, but that too will change soon.
My young bird race season is now completed for the year, and I was able to earn some prize money in the final futurity race. On to planning for next year.

The WW went to let the chickens out and came running back in and told me there was an owl in the chicken pen.

So. I had to get out of my death bed, throw some outdoor clothes on and hobble to the pen. Lucky for me he got caught up in the wire and netting so I could grab him.

I actually let him go, I am way to sick to participate

Proof I let the sob go..

Would be nice if he learned a lesson.
