Surviving Minnesota!

Time change ugh . Report - button buck came in last night . Wind was wrong - he blew a few times then left . He came back later and did the same thing . Did not like my smell .

Story time . My grand nephew had a buck come into his work . A shop - barn type place . Buck would not leave and guys were not getting much work done . Boss said somebody get that deer out of here . Nephew said I can do that . So he gets the deer outside and crowds it into a fence . Grabs it by the antlers and drags it off the property . :gig

I don't think they use the gas ones....I could be mistaken though?
My guess is they use “Armstrong” ones.

I am in my stand, the decoy is set and properly odorized. This is the first morning that feels like deer hunting.

Below freezing, frost or ice layer on everything. I am in full orange today. I have my insulated bibs on. My nose is feeling the cold. Two pairs of socks. And the heater blazing away.

I am the orange blob today.View attachment 2892893

I still have the windows shut in the stand. I will open them slowly about an half an hour before shooting time. Legal shooting time is 6:36 I think. So we can round that off to 6:00. (Jk. Don’t call the wardens!!)

I am without a hunting partner today. So I hope, if I shoot it drops immediately. I am not up to dragging a deer a mile out of the swamp.

I could use some infra red binoculars if anyone is wondering what to get me for Christmas.

YaY, Jerry, a house to yourselves.

The weather warmed up it is 34 degrees now. It is suppose to start dropping later today with rain and snow this evening.

I had a hard time getting up this morning, so I didn’t get into my stand until 5:25. I had hoped to have seer grazing in the rye field this morning. Nothing here.

Hopefully they will eat this afternoon before the snow stuff.
