Surviving Minnesota!

Back home now . Funeral is tomorrow . Deer visited me . They like the clover I have planted at the cabin . Saw a red fox one evening . It looked around and laid down for a nap . No chickens so live and let live . Fishing was really poor .

I think I may quit fishing in Mn . Just not worth the price of a license anymore . Went out 4 times and only 3 keepers . Sunfish were very small and scarce . Always my go to when things got tough . I have theories on what happened to the lake . Not going to say it as it will surely rile someone .

Short answer is overfished . Too many cabins and year around fishing . It could take 15 to 20 years to recover . At 70 I will likely not see it . So sad .
Yep this. It is like this by our house too. I just want to take my kids fishing and then catch a fish! We don't eat but catch and release. Lakes are packed all summer long.

Lows in the 50s this week! Excited for fall but not what comes next.
