survivor of mink attack healing but won't eat on his own

My barn was raided by a mink 2 sunday's ago and i lost 14 birds. my silkie roo was attacked and moments from death but his head wounds have healed but he won't eat.
i have force fed him scrambled eggs with polyvisol vitamins and yogurt with honey and have been injecting him under the skin with lactated ringer. i thought he was dead yesterday morning but he is just very lethargic. anyone know of what else i can do?
i don't want to lose him from starving to death after all he has been through...
do you think he is depressed, he did lose all his hens and nearly got his head ripped off

I'm sorry, I don't have any advice but it sounds like you're doing all the right things. If you think it might be shock I guess keep his strength up until he recovers enough to want to eat again.

You can try shoving oats into his mouth. I tried that and it seemed to do well with my hen. I'm sure he's pretty depressed about losing his hens but If he hasn't died from his wounds I think he'll be alright as long as you can get water and food down his throat. Make sure you give him plenty of water. I use a small syringe and work their beak open with my thumbnail and once I have it open quickly squirt a small amount of water in their mouth. Sometimes You'll get most of it on your lap or elsewhere but what little does get in them is enough to keep them hydrated. You could also try getting another hen and see if that perks him up.

I'm sorry report that he has succumbed to his injuries... i think he had an infection he was really warm and i did treat him with penicllin but who knows what that mangy mink had.
i'm really sad because that was my last Silkie..... i guess i'll stick with my Polish projects.
maybe someday i will get some more Silkies but i have some pen reinforcing to do first.
