Yes that’s a Salmon Faverolles cockerel.

Does anyone know if they are a nicer cockerel? Or it just depends???
I’ve heard that the cockerels/cocks are very laid back and not human aggressive.
Faverolles cockerel - as a breed they are generally mellow, but it all depends upon the individual.
I've only had one and he was very sweet. I don't see a beard on your boy is it just not visible in the photo? Salmon favorelles should be bearded.
That being said each bird is an individual and each line can have different temperaments as there is a genetic aspect to temperament. It also depends on how he was raised.
Personally we don't baby our cockerals after they're sexable. That is not to say we never handle them or anything. We need them to be handleable for their safety and for ours should it be necessary. But we don't pick them up and cuddle them and such. A little bit of natural respect and even fear is good for a cockeral. We want them to know we won't hurt them or the ladies but theyust move out of our way when we walk through.
We breed here for gentle temperaments among other things including vigor and meat and laying abilities.
Sadly we lost our favorelles cockeral to a fox before we could breed him.
You also need to realize if he is your first cockeral that when a cockeral is maturing and especially if there isn't a mature rooster in the flock to teach him(mature hens can also help) that there will almost certainly be a time where his hormones get the best of him and he could be a rough with the girls. If he's to turn into a rooster you want to keep around that will stop as his hormones settle and he learns what he's supposed to do.
You also should take into account how much space you have(hormonal cockerals sometimes need to be separated from the ladies until they settle as well as the more space the more they can avoid his advances as he learns, hopefully meaning he won't have to be separated)
How many mature hens do you have, any? How many pullets?
Cockerals generally mature more quickly than pullets which is one of the reasons they cause so much trouble when raised with pullets their own age. The more pullets the better.

We have 3 hens laying and 23 pullets a few from April and a few from May. I’m waiting for Our April girls to start laying any day. We’ve had 1 nice rooster in the past and 3 mean buggers. Hopefully this one will be nice.
Guessing he's either hatchery quality or a Faverolles mix, because he does indeed lack a beard. 
And 100% handsome cockerel.

Faverolle mix cockerel. Purebred faverolles have beards.
