Suspicious comb development on Golden Campine, rut roh!

Thanks for the info. At 3 weeks, yours are much, MUCH more feathered out than mine is at almost 5 weeks. He's quite scraggly. Yours also seem just....fuller. I can't see their legs, but his are long and thick.

Glad to know that the beginnings of a crow isn't unheard of at around 4 weeks. I thought perhaps I was nuts! I got him to do it about 4 or 5 more times that day but haven't been able to since. It only works if I stand out of sight and make a deep, gutteral cough. He perks right up and even appears to be doing the motions of an adult roo crowing. It really is cute. I think now that he's caught on to the fact that I'm the one doing it, he's stopped.

His comb does look very similar to your girls, though. If it weren't for the mini-crow, I'd be back on my 'he really is a she' denial train! Then again, knowing my luck, now that I'm all excited that I have the roo I really wanted, but decided not to get, he'll go and lay an egg on me in 12 weeks!

Here he is:

Looking completely roo-ish!
