We are looking for good homes for our standard Toulouse Geese. One mating pair gander (Marti) 3rys old goose (Marley) 2yrs old , and two 1yr old daughters - all are laying except gander of course.

Ducks 1 Rouen drake (Jack) 4yrs old who is just hiliarious and 2 Khaki Campbell (2 months) 1 hen and 1 drake.

These guys are our pets and we would love to find homes where they will be treated the same. Can't imagine attempting to ship but would be willing to deliver or meet withing a couple hours drive - we have family in Portland (Estacada) area which would be reasonable distance for us.

Our geese have never attacked anyone - our parents come out to care for our animals when we aren't home and at first they are very defensive but then theyl relax. The worse reaction has been to our neighbor kid - and they simply wouldn't stop honking and hissing in a threatening manner - never actually approached to nip or chase. They aren't too difficult to catch but prefer not to be petted or held, but like to be around you and are interested in whatever you 've got going on. I should advise that all of our geese like to bully our golden retrievers and our goldens tollerate it amazingly - not sure other dogs would be so accepting.

Goose Marley was raised from a gosling and is more social with us than the others. Marley is also the most likely to give a good nip when we shoo them off the off the nest to grab eggs - when my husband calls to her and Marley they both will answer with honks.

Goose Maggie daughter 1 - hangs close to her father Marti and doesn't appear to be much of a setter as far as the eggs are concerned.

Goose Molly daughter 2 is quiet and keeps more to herself - often just a bit off from the others - she is a devoted egg sitter so much so that she is willing to share the one nest they've all been laying in with Marley. Even though she is skittish I have a soft spot for her - I think she'd be happy with a gander of her own.

Gander Marti - we purchased when he was just over a year old. He is very handsome - I just love his gracefull neck and his the way walks around looking so pretty. He is no trouble at all though sometimes thinks we should go around him when we're driving down the driveway. He is very devoted to Marley.

Jack the drake rouen is my favorite of the ducks but then he's had 4 years to grow on me . He brings us so many laughs it's a bit hard to part with him. He follows .. let me rephrase - chases us and our golden retrievers everywhere - I guess because we pose some kind of threat? Anyway - he's easy to handle and would really love a hen of his own - I've had poor luck these last 4 years loosing my hens to preditors - now that I've figured out how to keep them safe I consistently end up with drakes when I buy chicks in the spring.

Tulip & Pansy our Khaki Campbell ducks - are young and skitish -(purchased as ducklings mid Mar 08) we haven't spent the kind of time I would like - Tulip did not turn out to be a hen but Pansy is - which is wonderful because I've found it's the girls that are so fabulous at bug/slug control.

:Actually - you might be surprised that Sweet Home is not too far for me. I'm most concerned with a good home. I'm originally from S. Oregon and have family in Grants Pass, Hillsboro and Estacada so I can always spend a night in Estacade then make a day trip to Sweet Home - let me know if you might be interested.

Thanks:)

UPDATE - -

Was able to find a wonderful home for all my geese and our 1 rouen - Thanks for your interest.

Due to a major computer crash the day I posted this I am sorry to say I missed this an am sorry if it looked like I was rude. I am grateful for your generous response and would love to have had them.
Blessings,
Pauline

Not to worry Pauline - I've learned you never really know what might be going on in someones world so I try not to pass judgement, besides your post gave me hope that I might indeed find a home I could feel good about my geese going to, and for that I am thankful.

In two weeks my family of 4, which just grew to 7 (3 newly hatched goslings) will be headed to their new home just off Willapa Bay on the Washington coast. We were able to visit last Saturday - 38 acres, 2 of which is securely fenced with 6' chainlink- the new owners a lovely retired couple.

The best of luck to you in your seach

Thank you for your understanding!
