those cygnets are elegant looking already! did you incubate them just the same as geese eggs? (resting them fifteen minutes, same humidity, and did you spray or dunk the eggs at all?)

Wow! Those are cool! My mom has been wanting some of those for a long time. She has a lake right outside her back door.
Where do you get the eggs from...or do you have any to sell??

your babies are adorable, thank you for sharing pictures of them. I have to say though, they are huge!

edited to add, compared to chicken and button quail babies that I am used to.

yes i misted them with a spray bottle daily & treated them as if they were duck/goose eggs. when they started rocking & made it through the air cell, i wrapped each egg in a damp paper towl ..i just hope all that humidity didnt kill everythihg else in my bator..cuz its FULL of very expensive SQ bird eggs.

You can find eggs on ebay sometimes, they sell for well over $100 per egg..but the eggs are hardy, so theyre better for shipping than small eggs. Theres very little if no imformation on incubating them either, Ive had to wing it..and so far all 8 eggs are alive.

Once Im done hatching & if its sucessful..im going to write a webpage page on it so that other people know how to do it..I would have loved the information. I was never good at hatching chicken eggs, but waterfowl i did well with for some reason.

They are beautiful! And congrats on figuring it out. That would be great of you to document how you did it. There is really a lack of information about swans and hatching them. You should do a page on BYC about it, I am sure lots of people would love to learn. I hope you will keep us updated with pictures of how they grow. I have never seen a baby swan!
