I had a finch once that had it's leg taken off at the hip. It was hanging on the side of the aviary and I assume something in the sky came down and tried to pull it through. Crazy what animals can endure. I hope she adjusts. Sounds like she's in good company.Couple days ago saw my oldest SFH pullet hanging in the back of the coop. I went around the back and tapped on the wall and she hopped up to where the other 3 girls were. I went around there, opened the door and picked her up. Looking to see if she had injured her leg. I could not find her leg, it was gone. Only two quarter size blood spots. I didn't ruffle her feathers too much, BUTT I couldn't even find where it used to be (didn't want to hurt her anymore). Anyway I put her in isolation. She seems to be holding on and is alert.
I kinda feel for her, as I got two peg legs myowndamnself.
If she comes thru and I think she will, I'll name her Peg-gy.
I do have crested cockerals in this color, I will get some pics if it ever stops raining. In the meantime, here's the same color in a crested female, about 24 weeks old. Were yours that were that color crested? It's hard to tell in the pic, but that's a crested cockeral.
Do you have any pics of them finished out?
I have no new pics yet, we're getting much needed rain.

Congrats!I'm swooning over these lovlies. I've been wanting this breed and by happenstance found these little ones locally. They are the only chickens I have named, Well, except for the rooster and Red is fewer syllables the "the rooster"
I'm guessing these are about 12-15 weeks old. Not sure.
They are from L. to R. June, May and April.
April is a little hard to photograph being all white. She has a few smudges of charcoal and red.
