HappyMtn, light one in the middle looks lavender. Yep, that one with the vaulted skull is a dead give away. Funny how some are so obvious and others wait until 8 weeks to develop a crest. It's such a grab bag! Geat range of colors there.

So pretty Miss Molly! Lots of dots!

I am so happy to have this rainbow of little ones- Genelda did an awesome job with those eggs. I have never had a perfect hatch like that once they've been in the mail for 2 days.
They are such funny chicks. Spritely, I would say. The few older ones I have are pretty mischeivous. They remind me a bit of an andalusian and a buttercup we have that are always sneaking in the house.

They look great!!! I am so glad you are enjoying them. DH did a good job of collecting eggs while I was gone PA. After looking at your photos I am itching to hatch out a few for me.

When it is blistering hot and chickens (and hens) get listless, I use a great product called Sav-A-Chik. There are two products, actually. One has electrolytes and the other has probiotics. They mix at the rate of one envelope to a gallon of water; and you can put one envelope of each kind into the gallon. I use them both faithfully on newly hatched chicks and on the flock at large at times of stress, whether heat-induced or from upsetting the pecking order like when I weed out a 'satellite' flock for a gent in the neighboring town. You can find them sometimes at your local feed store and also at Tractor Supply stores in our area. The electrolytes one is like vitamins for the chicks, and the probiotic one is for digestive aid. They come three envelopes in a row, (like yeast for bread) and cost like $2.25 for the electrolytes and $3.25 for the probiotics. I like the electrolytes the best; I saw the change in the flock within five days time of introducing it to their drinking water. I also found both products on eBay, but they were cheaper here locally for me. One other thing, I don't give this to my hens for more than a couple weeks; then wait for the next stress period to give it again. It's too expensive to give daily forever, because it has to me made fresh daily.
