I set 28 SFH two weeks ago from two different flocks, both shipped. Unfortunately I'm already down to 11, 4/17 and 7/11. Hopefully I'll get a few out if it.

I've really been wanting to hatch some. I''ve just gotten 9 pretty baby chicks but am down to 8 tonight. Some things just don't work out. What I like best about these birds is that they are all so different. I've got 4 that are yellower but each have different spots of brown and their wing tips are already darker. I've got three that are brownie and creamy white and one that is black with some white. they change every day.

I have wanted some of these since I saw them a year ago online, and I set 14 2 days ago! They seemed totally unharmed by a trip through the mail. Guess we will see what happens.

Just set my first 8 Swedish Flower Hen eggs under a broody hen. They have been laying about three weeks so they are pullet eggs and rather small, but I wanted to check fertility....and to be perfectly honest just couldn't wait. Excited to see what colors I get as mine are all light colors.

So, I gave in and candled 3 random eggs. I saw veining in 2 of them. So relieved that some are growing. I hope that some of those will actually hatch! Maybe that will hold me over till day 10. Ugh! Seems so far away!

Yeah, that is great news! My little incubator has been running almost solid since Jan. I am starting to loose that excitement. Maybe it is time for a break. I so love hatching SFH, because of all the different colored chicks.

Quote: this is a major hatch for me. Only my 3rd hatch. My first hatch 0, second 2 out of 12 (ameracauna), I so hope I get some SFH out of this batch. My boxes were pretty beat up when I got them. We want to pretty much only deal in SFH as they're part of my husband lineage. Next week I am gonna order some day old SFH chicks from greenfire farms.
