Just sharing updated pictures of my SFH chicks - now almost 6 weeks old. This beautiful trio has stolen my heart :)

My beautiful little cockerel, Gunnar, from above to show off his amazing coloring.

Wow love that cockerel! The pullets are really nice as well. Love the darker colors. I do like the light ones as well, its just that there is a shortage of dark ones at my place. I did get one little black chick out of this hatch. 17 of 18 hatched! One has a bad leg and probably won't make it. Bracing doesn't seem to be helping.

Very pretty chicks Bulldogma. Great hatch Bernie56!

I hatched out 8 chicks under a broody recently. I just want to note that although one came from my white/red splash hen, I got only colorful birds. I think it's going to take a while to determine which mix and match results in any specific coloring. Again, part of the fun of hatching these birds out!!

I still have some nice cockerels, all very colorful, one mille fleur, some blue based, that I'd love to give to a good home. I'm in San Diego County if anyone is interested. PM me and I'll email you pics of all the individuals.

I have a beautiful blue hen like yours and a roo almost identical to the one Muzzy posted plus a darker hen with a crest. I took 11 fertile eggs from this trio to a friend with an incubator and 8 of the 11 eggs hatched on Aug. 16th. The friend kept 3 chicks and those in the photo are the ones she brought me. We got a nice mix of colors and the blue one in the center is growing a crest. I'm thinking there are 2 hens and 3 roos but still early as they are only 3 weeks old. My original trio I got as chicks from AandJFarms. Who did you get your hens from?

Amazing! I hope mine come out as colorful..didn't get my eggs today..sooo, better be tomorrow! I am loving all of the pictures.

Got my new bator in!! Plugged it in last night and it got up to temp in about 30 mins (maybe less) and held the temp all night perfectly! I cannot wait to get some eggs in it!!!

I candled the 5 eggs under my broody, 2 were moving, 2 were growing, 1 looks like a quitter! My good flashlight broke, so I was using a crappy one, so I left the 1 iffy egg in there, just in case I was wrong. They should be hatching next week!! I can't wait!

Glad to hear it! I just candled the 16 that I put in on Sunday. (I added one on Monday) They are all developing. Just added 4 more yesterday, so 20 more on tap. I've got to stop this. But its so much fun!
