very nice chick. your chick is very dark do you think it will be black as an adult ? I have 5 sfh eggs in incubator now. my hens are mostly blue and tan no dark ones. my roosters are brown with dark chests. I am looking foreward to hatch day. don't know what to expect ?

Ki4got is growing some out and I have this girl... and Ki4got has Birta's last 4 eggs in the incubator as we speak. We'll see how each one turns out and one of the nicest pullets will be saved for you.

Just wanted to share a pic of my SFH pullet, I really like how she is turning out and she's very sweet. I named her Kenickie, a couple months ago her crest was all black and looked like a hairdo from the movie Grease but now there is lots of white coming through.

very nice !!! sorry for your loss. my rooster looks a lot like yours. how old is your rooster ? I have to figure out how to take nice photos like you do and then figure out how to get them in my computer.

it helps if you use the 'quote' button at the bottom right of the post you're replying to, so we know who you're talking to... many of us have lost birds, posted pics of roosters, etc.

as for the nice photos, a good camera is a huge help. I blame Bulldogma for my urge to get a 'real' camera and got the Canon Rebel T3 (digital SLR) and don't regret it one bit.

I thought this chick was my PB SFH, but now at 4 1/2 weeks, it still doesn't have any color. So I'm assuming that means she can't be. Correct?

Could this one be SFH?

Well, dad is a crested white and red splash. Mom is probably a very pale tan, very light and quite pretty, with many white flowers, no crest. Could explain why chick #1 is white. Can't explain why the crest is so big though...dad has a small crest, mom has none. My crested hen lays very distinctive eggs and you didn't get one of hers. The others, all being from RSL moms, may or may not have crests.

Leigh...if I'm really getting one of those girls I need to get a dark colored NON-CRESTED roo too. Preferably not related. But I'll consider anything.
