These two Swedish cockerels I just brought home from Turnip Truck are the friendliest most sensible birds I've seen yet. Two hours in the cat carrier on the back of my motorcycle at 70 mph didn't phase them. All the girls came running when I let them loose and it took this guy less than a minute to size up the situation. He walked over to Rosa Klebb and stroked her side with his head.

Rosa just stood there with her mouth hanging open for a whole 15 seconds before she clicked her shoe knife and jumped on him with both feet and beat the love right out of him.

They let me pick them up and stuff there head in the outdoor feeder but they just didn't get it.

So I picked them up and showed them the feeder in the coop, that they understood.

I showed them the water nipples and how they worked but they didn't seem interested.
Later I picked them up and showed them the cast iron water bowl and they were really thirsty.

These are the only chickens I have ever been able to pick up and show them where things are.
They are so tame and sensible.

Are there any of those boys that you think will turn out like this one? He's just amazingly beautiful in color. I've almost decided which one I want but if you think you have one like this..... I'm sold.

I am glad these two are settling in nicely. I really wanted to hang on to the non-crested one as my back up Roo, but better half had other plans.

From time to time, I would just sit one ground with treats and let this hatch group climb all over me, but I never really picked them up much. I am glad they are tame little guys for you.

These two are sired by Duke, whom I got directly from Bulldogma. The Dams are both from lines which originated with Bulldogmas stock.

LM... I sure wish I did have a cockerel that was a black based snoleopard! Of course if I did I would keep him! LOL!

And Mela - you should get a few all-black chicks from the eggs I just sent you.

You got a bunch of Greta eggies.
