Swedish Flower Hen Thread

I've got 12 SFH eggs in the bator that go into lock down on Wednesday! first hatch of the year. This will more than likely be my last mailed hatch. There's also 11 Cuckoo Marans and 5 EE. What on earth am I gonna do with all these chicks if they hatch?!? Time for a bigger coop. Just hope my hubby isn't too aggravated!

And Tarheel - by any chance have your 9-month-old birds been moulting recently? Moulting paired with the winter cold and fewer hours of light can put off laying for a lot of pullets.

They did moult a month or so ago. And they do not get any artifical light. I guess it's just the time of year.

I cannot wait for my girls to start laying we're at almost 6 months old - well 2 of them are. My boys that are the same age have started hopping on the other girls backs, so i'm hoping they're doing they're job. Now my SFH girls just have to start laying!
