I have an ignorant question (meaning "uneducated").

I don't think I've ever seen a blue that did not have a crest. Do all blues have crests?

Thats neat how they change....you are going to sell eggs this year right? I want to get some I really like the red speck pullets I dont have any but that is one of my favorite colors in this breed! Thank you for posting! I have a red/white rooster crested and wish I had the pullets that look like that!

I should think that if you use the red/white roo on your white crested hen you will get a lot of red/white chicks. That was my experience anyway. Good luck!

The babies! This first one did not originate from GF and is older than the others. It is a black chick with white feathers, and the black feathers show some very dark brown/rust ticking. I sure hope it's a blue. Attitude makes me wonder if it's another roo. He stands up to us reaching in the brooder.

The rest came from GF and are about a week or so. Wing feathers are coming in nicely.

This one is very camera shy. Never looks at the camera.

I have an order for chicks from GF coming in tomorrow. I had asked Jenny at GF if their breeding pens all contained some crested and non-crested birds; she replied that all their breeders are crested. With the debate about breeding crested to crested birds I thought this might be information of interest to the group.

Heyy guys I have a question! If you put a crested with a crested will you only get cested......o a no crest with no crest get only no crest?

i have not started breeding any yet as my pullets aren't laying quite yet...However. I did find an egg in the nest box today that was a bit smaller than the rest. I wonder if Keni has started laying? Dang, I need a camera in there.
